Years of Experience
Over decades of working in informal conflict management, I have gained deep insights into what works, what does not, and what is genuinely needed to attain complete resolution. These insights were not just professional but deeply personal. Like many, I once approached conflict as something to be managed or overcome, priding myself on helping others find resolution while often avoiding the discomfort of my own conflicts. This contradiction eventually led to a personal crisis that forced me to confront what I had long evaded – the internal nature of all conflicts.
Through this challenging period, I discovered that conflicts were not merely external problems to solve but internal opportunities to evolve. Each dispute reflected aspects of myself that needed attention, healing, and integration. As I did this inner work, I witnessed how my external conflicts naturally transformed.
My journey into conflict management began thirty years ago when I initially studied to become a police officer. I quickly realized that reactive and repressive approaches to conflict were not aligned with my vision of actual resolution. This early insight set me on a different path—one focused on transformation rather than control.
In my late twenties, I launched my professional coaching business and discovered some thing crucial: a holistic approach produced far more transformative results than single-dimensional methods. This realization became the foundation for what would eventually evolve into the Seven Levels framework.
My work developing the Seven Levels framework emerged from recognizing that traditional conflict resolution approaches often addressed only surface dimensions while missing deeper opportunities for transformation. The Seven Levels model provides a comprehensive approach to building conflict intelligence across physical, emotional, identity, relational, communicative, intuitive, and spiritual dimensions:
Level 1
Creating physical and psychological safety as the foundation for intelligent engagement
Level 2
Transforming emotional reactivity into responsive wisdom
Level 3
Moving beyond ego-based positions to connect with inherent worth
Level 4
Transforming connection patterns through authentic engagement
Level 5
Developing communication that honors both self and others
Level 6
Accessing wisdom beyond analytical thinking
Level 7
Recognizing unity beneath apparent separation
This framework, detailed in my book "Resolving from Within," represents a paradigm shift in how we approach conflict—moving from management to intelligence, suppression to transformation.
My training philosophy emphasizes developing conflict skills and true conflict intelligence—the capacity to navigate discord with awareness, compassion, and wisdom rather than automatic reactivity or avoidance.
Today, I dedicate myself to developing conflict intelligence through my book "Resolving fromWithin" and comprehensive training programs that serve diverse audiences:
seeking to transform their personal conflict patterns
creating cultures that support constructive engagement with differences
enhancing their conflict resolution practice with a more holistic approach
I believe that developing conflict intelligence represents one of the most critical evolutionary capacities for our time. When approached with consciousness and courage, conflict becomes not an obstacle to peace but a catalyst for more profound peace—an opportunity to heal divisions within ourselves, our relationships, and our world.
My deepest hope is that the Seven Levels framework serves as both a practical guide and asource of inspiration for those committed to transforming their conflicts—not by eliminatingdifferences or tensions but by engaging them with greater awareness, compassion, and wisdom.
